Nazca releases their fourth album. A self-titled, numbered, limited edition white vinyl LP.

When:

Wednesday 13th of June 2012. The release is marked with a release party at Alakerta/Nosturi, Helsinki. Digital edition will be available this year.

Who:

Norwegian-Finnish Helsinki rock quintet armed with crooning vocals, soviet era synths, glockenspiel, 12 string guitar and a solo surf tone. Defiant outsiders from the start, they have produced eclectic, intelligent and soulful music for years.

The National, Swans, Townes van Zandt, Ennio Morricone, Love, Wye Oak, Liars, Dead Kennedys, Kraftwerk.

Arctic desert rock. Politicoemotional psych postdeathrock with a shovelful of sweet barroom melancholia.

What´s up:

At the completion of previous album, Out (2010), Nazca had under their belt five years of recording, re-recording, studio premises demolished and rebuilt. The process had taken them to a new place altogether. While recording the older material on Out, they changed into a new band in the process.

Therefore, at the release of Out, Nazca played festival dates in Finland and Norway, but focused on work in their studio, Styrofoam Head. To document where they had arrived at artistically.

The results are now available for all to see. A far more extrovert collection:

-Demented market freefall montage stomp (Krisis),

-Current living postpunk cubism (Unnu Vanfnu),

-Stockbroker Judas psych balladry (Kor Kapital),

-Apocalypse mariachi (Lamp pols),

-60´s existentialist crooning, while forlorn surfers cry despondently on forgotten beaches (Malady)

-Atheist conundrum manifesto horror rock (Daemonz)

-Intimacy electro industrial pop (Kasimir Efekt)

-The dark place, wooden boards, creaking guitars, static electric synthesizers and calm glocken.(Skrtzrkrd)

-A truly subversive piece. The darkest tune camouflaged as the happiest tune, a pepper spray can with a happy face on it.(Sopriti).

Nazca are very excited about this record and are deliriously happy to be able to share this collection of songs with you.

Nazca – Real Love

Nazca starts 2012 in February and plays a semiacoustic gig at our favourite Turku bar, Bar Kuka.

Before we leave, I would like to say something about what happened last week, .

The murderer was no lone nut. He was the product of ideas. His deed was possible because there were people giving him a framework on which he could build his hate. Those people are still around.

IF you want to do something about this, I got ONE suggestion:

Next time you hear someone talk about niggers, homot, mustapekkas, faggots, kikes, broads, lezzers, gingers, pakis, somalis, TELL THEM, even respectfully, that you don´t like hearing that HATEFUL TRASH.

MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND that they are NOT a part of a SILENT MAJORITY, they are a part of a LOUD MINORITY.

He was able to kill these beautiful children, an OASIS of potential, each and every one of them, because he did not see them as humans. That´s what these ideas do to you. You DEHUMANIZE your fellow man.

We aren´t tyrannized by political correctness. We are tyrannized by LACK OF EMPATHY. We are tyrannized by dehumanization.

Deconstructing the flag to rebuild it again.

Nazca will make TWO surprise appearances this Friday at Faces Etno Festival. 
We will first open the festival programme with a short acoustic set at the Mountain stage 17:30. Then we will play a full 45 minute acoustic set at the Boardwalk stage 20:00.

We in Nazca are honored to be asked to open this festival, hope to see you there!

From there on we will continue to Turku for our gig at Kuka on Saturday, hope to see you there too!

Also, Nazca will return to Norway and play Sandøya festival on saturday 20/8.

Otherwise, we have been whiling away at Styrofoam head studio. We are currently mixing six new tracks. People who´s heard the music say it´s the best ever. Who are we to disagree?
